Bulletproof Coffee- Coffee with butter?!

Time for a new mindchanging article!

Since I’ve been into this whole low carb-high fat phase from the beginning of December 2015 on, I started learning many new alternatives of “Basic Nutrition”, if I can even call it like that.

There are so many ways of serving and creating new ways of Basic Food, that you didn’t even dare of thinking about. A lot of ones, actually!

In this post I’m going to explain you the benefits of the so called Bulletproof Coffee, a natural power drink. And I can already tell, many of you guys are going to be unsure about it and maybe even a little bit…surprised? Check it out yourself! 😀

What is bulletproof coffee?

What is even this thing that sounds like..umm..a gun? Seriously tho! The first time I came towards this expression, I thought it’s some sort of weapon, hahaha!

Well actually, its benefits of this coffee are almost comparable to a weapon because it has so much power in it, once you know how to serve it properly and unfold its full potential!

Basically, it’s coffee mixed with butter and oil instead of usual milk and sugar.

But to be more precise, there’s much more than only butter and any kind of oil.

The first time someone came up with this idea was Dave Asprey, who’s namely the inventor of bulletproof coffee.

He got inspired from one of his trips in Himalaya, where he was offered a “Yakbutter-tea”.
These positive effects of this special tea got him so much impressed, that he decided to brew it back home in the USA. With time, he even managed to make a much more effective drink- the bulletproof coffee was born! 🙂

What is bulletproof coffee made of?

Originally, this coffee contains grass-fed butter (e.g. Kerrygold butter) and MCT-Oil, which is a special oil made of coconut oil. All the ingredients are beat until frothy with a high-performance mixer.

So, if you might not find MCT-Oil in your surroundings, you can just use normal coconut oil instead as well. That’s not a problem.
Same benefits, but less effective, to be honest.(I for myself don’t use any MCT-Oil either, I just buy the usual coconut oil that’s found in most Asian supermarkets or Bio-shops! Alike goes with butter, I just take that one I usually buy.)

Buuuuut, as mentioned above, the effect is less without the grass-fed butter because grass-fed butter is higher than grain-fed butter in omega-3 fatty acids, beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin D, vitamin E, as also as antioxidants.

Also, grass-fed butter is more yellowish, while grain-fed butter looks more white.

What are the benefits of bulletproof coffee?

There are so many benefits, I think I’m just going to list them all below:

  • Raise of mental and physical performance
  • Gives higher energy and more concentration
  • Positive impact on fat burning
  • Being very low in carbohydrates, it forces your body to dig into those stubborn body fat reserves
  • You become more saturated- for hoursetc…

How to make Bulletproof Coffee!?

Enough of explaining, time to get practical!

It’s super easy done! And so quickly!

Ingredients:

  • Coffee (best to use pesticides-and fungal spores free coffee e.g. Primal Coffee)
  • 1-2 Tablespoon of grass-fed butter
  • 1-2 Tablespoon of MCT-oil (alternatively coconut-oil)
  • For more flavour 1/2 Teaspoon of vanilla

How you’ll prepare:

Just put them ingredients all together, beat the drink until frothy!
